Dr. Maode Ma received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1999. Now, he is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He has extensive research interests including wireless networking and network security. He has led and/or participated more than 20 research projects funded by government, industry, military and universities in various countries. He has been a general chair, technical symposium chair, tutorial chair, publication chair, publicity chair and session chair for more than 80 international conferences. He has been a member of the technical program committees for more than 180 international conferences. Dr. Ma has more than 300 international academic publications including more than 140 journal papers and over 160 conference papers. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Computer and Communication Engineering and International Journal of Electronic Transport. Dr. Ho received his Ph.D. in Information Technology from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Multimedia University. His doctoral research work was on the performance evaluation of multimodal biometric systems using fusion techniques. Dr. Ho is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is also a Microsoft Technology Associate - (Database Administration Fundamentals and Security Fundamentals) and IBM Certified Database Associate. Dr. Ho has undertaken consultancy projects for customers ranging from Telekom Malaysia (Revenue Calculator) and United Nations Development Programme, and MSC-Status companies. Dr. Ho has also won and participated in grants such as the MDeC's Innovation Voucher (Cloud Visitor Management System) & MOSTI's TechnoFund (Network Planning Tool) respectively. He has also successfully completed a Fundamental Research Grant Scheme project related to multimodal biometric systems. Ho has also worked on Telekom Malaysia R&D funded projects on content based multimedia retrieval (completed) as well as one on Twitter analysis (ongoing). Dr. Ho sits on the Malaysian Information Technology Society as an Exco Member, and is also on the National Technical Commitee for Health Informatics (Standards Malaysia/SIRIM). Choo-Yee Ting is currently working as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, Malaysia. He is also the Deputy Dean of the Institute for Postgraduate Studies, Multimedia University. In year 2002, Choo-Yee Ting was awarded the Fellow of Microsoft Research by Microsoft Research Asia, Beijing, China. He has been active in research projects related to predictive analytics and Big Data. Most of the projects were funded by MOE, MOSTI, Telekom Malaysia, MDeC, and industries. In year 2014, he and his team members won two national level Big Data Analytics competitions. Dr. Ting has been the trainer for MDeC and INTAN for courses related to Big Data and Data Science. He is also the consultant, mentor and assessor for projects under MDeC funding. Currently he is working on Trouble Ticket Resolution prediction for Telekom Malaysia, AirAsia seat capacity optimization, and Dengue outbreak prediction for the government of Philippines. Dr. Somnuk Phon-Amnuaisuk is an Associate Professor at the School of Computing & Informatics, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB). Prior joing UTB he was an Associate Professor at the Department of Multimedia Design and Animation, Faculty of Creative Industries, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Prior to joining UTAR, he was a senior lecturer and an Associate Dean at the IT Faculty of Multimedia University (Cyberjaya, Malaysia).
Somnuk is responsible for teaching the undergraduate and graduate courses. He also supervises undergraduate student projects and graduate research projects. He leads the Media Informatics Special Interest Group (MI6) and the International Neural Network Society (INNS) Brunei chapter. He serves as a reviewer and an editorial board member for international journals. He is also actively involved as a committee member in many local/international conferences.
Somnuk received his Ph.D. from Edinburgh University in Artificial Intelligence (2002), supervised by Dr. Alan Smaill and Dr. Geraint Wiggins (now a Professor of Computational Creativity at the University of London) . He also completed his M.Sc course from Edinburgh University in 1997 which was then converted to a part of his Ph.D there.
